Counselling for all seasons of your life.

Life can look very different on the outside than it feels on the inside. You may appear capable and successful while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or exhausted. Perhaps you’re so focused on caring for others that your own needs have been pushed aside, or you find yourself caught in cycles of self-criticism, worry, or stress. Whatever has brought you here, therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and move toward greater clarity, self-compassion, and lasting change.

How therapy can help

Therapy can offer new perspectives, healthier patterns, and pathways forward. At Springate Counselling, support is available for anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, depression, self-criticism, and life transitions. Together, we can work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, a quieter inner critic, and increased self-compassion and confidence.

What to expect in sessions

  • A warm, non-judgmental space
  • Practical strategies alongside deeper exploration
  • A focus on both understanding and change
  •  Support that meets you where you are
  •  A collaborative, rather than directive, approach
  • An inclusive and affirming space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and relationship structures

About our work together

Therapy is a space where you can speak openly without judgment. If you’ve been carrying thoughts or feelings that are difficult to put into words, we can begin to untangle them and lessen feelings of shame or isolation.

We’ll also pay attention to your strengths and successes. Therapy isn’t only about what feels difficult—it’s also about identifying what’s already working and building from there.

My approach

Meaningful change happens when people feel understood, supported, and appropriately challenged. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build on the strengths you already have.

Sessions are guided by evidence-based approaches and tailored to your unique goals, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed methods.

Practical tools and strategies are introduced early when helpful to support meaningful change. When it feels right, we can also explore past experiences and relationships, including long-held beliefs and patterns that may continue to influence your life today.
